DENS_UP VELUTÉ is a food for special medical purposes in powder form suitable for the dietary management of patients with difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia) or difficulty in chewing who require a diet of an appropriately modified consistency. DENS_UP VELUTÉ is suitable for thickening beverages and semi-liquid foods or purées, facilitating acceptance and use by patients. Instantly soluble.

Dosage is according to patient and is to be defined by the attending practitioner on the basis of the patient’s various requirements. The quantity of powder to be used depends on the desired consistency and the physical and chemical characteristics of the food/liquid to be thickened, such as temperature, viscosity, acidity or the presence of fats, proteins, etc. Indicative doses for thickening 100 ml of liquid at room temperature and neutral pH to the consistency of: Nectar: 1.5 measuring scoops (approx. 3.5 g) Custard: 2 measuring scoops (approx. 5 g) Pudding: 3 measuring scoops (approx. 7.5 g)

For a smooth and creamy consistency, pour a little powder evenly over the liquid to be thickened, stirring with a fork or spoon until completely dissolved. Check the consistency obtained after 1 or 2 minutes, if necessary, adding more powder and mixing again. Repeat until the desired consistency has been obtained.

The product must be used according to instructions and under medical supervision. The product is not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition and must not be injected. Do not use for children under the age of 3.

Keep in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to direct heat sources and sunlight. The date of minimum durability refers to the product stored appropriately in an unopened package. Ensure the jar is properly closed after use. Consume within 8 weeks of opening. Dispose of correctly.
